Ionian Cultural Centre

Responding to the Corfu City need to develop alternative tourism categories, The municipality of Corfu with the Ioniki Bank as sponsor, in May 1996 inaugurated the Ionian Cultural Centre in the Building Complex of the St. Nicholaos Baths.

The building complex is situated on an exceptionally privileged spot, the geographical centre of a wider area of historical and cultural interest. Built on the coastline of the Old City of Corfu, under the Venetian walls and important historical buildings like the Palace of St. Michael and St.George, the Corfu Reading Society and the Capodistria Mansion, the Ioniko Cultural Centre faces the Old Fort and the island of Vidos across the sea.

The Ionian Cultural Centre offers space for many uses for example conventions, seminars, exhibitions, concerts, film projections, ceremonies.

It comprises:

A. Ground floor, including

Restaurant, with the capability of serving 80 people indoors and 500 outdoors.
Bar, with the capability of serving 50-60 people indoors and 400 outdoors.
Reception

Β. First Floor, including

Central convention hall with a capacity for 125 delegates, fully equipped with:

2 interpretation cabins with the option of extending to 4
Complete, modern sound (Dolby Surround) and electronic equipment
Video projector and computer connection (Multimedia uses)
Wireless option for multiple translation (7 channels)
Alternative option for conferences, press conferences in Greek Π shape with a modern microphone installation (soft touch system)
Ventilation - Air conditioning

2.   Reception hall (immediate communication with ground floor and reception desk)
       which can operate supportively, as well as independently from the other halls
       as a space for various events if so desired.

C. Surrounding space

A cobbled yard of 2000 sqm, with parking space. The complex can also be approached by boat. This area is also ideal for drinks reception or gala dinner.
